Accessibility statement for the Data Marketplace
The Data Marketplace is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to the Data Marketplace website at: https://datamarketplace.gov.uk.
This page explains how accessible this website is, the improvements we’ve made and how to report accessibility problems.
There is a separate accessibility statement for the main GOV.UK website.
Using this service
This service is run by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service.
You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the website using just a keyboard
- navigate the website using speech recognition software
- use the website with a screen reader – including JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver
We’ve also made the text in the service as simple as possible to understand.
The service is currently in private beta and subject to ongoing user research and testing, including accessibility audits.
Compliance status
The service fully complies with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and incorporates improvements recommended for WCAG 2.2.
Improvements we’ve made
In summer 2024 the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) conducted an accessibility audit of the Data Marketplace.
This identified several issues which we’ve now resolved, including:
- form controls – all form controls now have meaningful names and logical structures for screen readers
- skip links – ’skip to main content’ links allow keyboard-only users to bypass repetitive elements
- screen reader feedback – buttons, links and pagination controls now have clear, descriptive labels
- text resizing and reflow – the website supports resizing up to 200% without loss of functionality, meeting reflow requirements
- heading structure – logical hierarchies across pages improve screen reader navigation
- fieldset grouping – related form controls are grouped with proper fieldset and legend tags
- pagination labels – pagination controls are labelled descriptively for better usability
- visible input labels – all input fields now have clear, visible labels
- distinct links – duplicate links now have unique identifiers for screen readers, for example on the Manage Organisations page

It will help if you include:

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’).
